Die Initiative

The student initiative was officially launched as the administrative body for the eLab on April 1, 2016. Since then, the members take care of events, purchases, instructions and the daily operation.

Because it is only through the activities of the initiative that it is possible to plan events, create workshops, purchase components, maintain and expand infrastructure, exchange information around the university and ultimately have fun doing it!

Origin of the Lab

The eLab was founded in 2014 as a student project by five students in order to create a contact point for students to translate theoretical knowledge from their technical studies into practical experience.

After two applications for university funding for student projects and the long planning phase and the renovation of the premises, the rooms could be moved into at the beginning of December 2015 and the furnishing could be started. With the steady support from the faculty IV, the building management and many laboratory engineers of the department eti, the rooms could be converted into a respectable laboratory.

Foundation of the student initiative eLab

For the foundation of the student initiative eLab our constitution was written, which was unanimously approved by the 8th session of the 43rd Student Parliament on March 2, 2016. (Link to the StuPa-Protokoll; you can find the password on the AStA page).

This was followed by the constituent plenary meeting on April 1, where the eLab was presented to about 20 people. Through the election of the founding board with Alexander Keil, Ferid Mahdi and Florian Otto, the initiative could further expand and develop.
